Stonehenge!

We had a great time visiting Stonehenge yesterday! We've had great luck with weather on our tours and this one was no exception.  After about two and a half hours on the bus we arrived at Stonehenge and were able to walk around listening to an audio tour.  We also took a ton of pictures so I hope you all enjoy them! (P.S.: Our blog thinks I'm Lauren writing this but it's Connor/me!)
You can't actually walk through the middle of Stonehenge unless you take special small group tours.  This is done to prevent the ground supporting the rocks from eroding.  The stones were originally placed in holes dug in the ground so it is important that the ground isn't disturbed and is still able to hold the stones.  There is a path around the outside that you can follow, the above picture is from a side where the path was further out.  So don't worry we did get closer than that!
There were several stones located further out from the center circling the main ring of Stonehenge.
Stonehenge was also surrounded by sheep!
The hill where some of the sheep are is actually an ancient burial mound.  There were several of these surrounding Stonehenge.
Here is Lauren demonstrating how to use an audio tour! And also some more pictures from different angles as we walked around!

We didn't have a chance to check out the visitor center but outside there were replica huts where the builders of Stonehenge are believed to have lived.

There was also a game where you could try to pull one of the stones and it would tell you how many people pulling at that force it would require to move the stone.  They were really really heavy.

We've had a great time in England and Stonehenge was a great place to visit before we travel to Paris tonight!
