Santorini and Connor's birthday!!

Connor and I just got back from a trip to Greece! The only bad part was that we spent 21 hours travelling on Friday, Connor's 24th birthday. But we spent the weekend on the island of Santorini and the best part was being able to see his sister Emily! In case you were wondering, Santorini is here:

Greece is known for their 200 beautiful islands and we were so lucky to be able to experience them for ourselves. Unfortunately, we went during their off season. Since Greece's primary industry is tourism, when there's no one visiting the islands, they sort of shut down. There weren't many places that were open, including restaurants, public transportation and activities, but we made the most of it. We stayed in Fira, the main town on the island, but visited Akrotiri on the Southern part of the island to see the Red Beach. Because of all the volcanoes in the area, the sand and surrounding area have a red tint to them.

After the beach, we went to the Northern part of the island to the town of Oia, which is probably the more famous part of Santorini. This is where you can find the white homes with the blue roofs and the most beautiful sunset. Unfortunately, you couldn't find many open businesses or restaurants so we didn't stay too long.
